There won’t be a Five Nights at Freddy’s 5, claims series creator Scott Cawthon, but he’s already hard at work on a spin-off called Five Nights at Freddy’s World. The catch? It’s not a horror game—it’s an RPG. Cawthon made the announcement via Steam today, revealing his plans to (mostly) move on from the games that have defined him for the past year or so.

It’s very important for me to say again that there will NOT
be a Five Nights at Freddy’s 5. The story is complete, and the Halloween update and new game will not add to it. It’s pretty common for horror creators to lie through their teeth about sequels, but Cawthon seems pretty sincere…for now. I wouldn’t count out a revival.
